Yoshinobu Nakagawa

Nakagawa’s inspiration comes from organic forms such as liquid surface, terra firma, and plants which has been his motif since his first solo exhibition in 1987. He focuses on fundamental aspects in natures such as active and passive, light and dark, production and exploitation which are also the essences of human nature. He depicts these contrasts in his various art forms which range from two dimensional works to large scale installations.
He currently lives near Biwako Lake in Shiga prefecture.
